D&G NERO

immersive room

Black, the most powerful and overwhelming color, is the symbol of Dolce & Gabbana, embodying sensuality and rigor, tragedy and love. This black-and-white book juxtaposes masters of Italian and international reportage with leading fashion photographers who have captured Dolce & Gabbana Black since the 1980s, including Helmut Newton, Inez & Vinoodh, Giuseppe Leone, Enzo Brai, Salvo Alibrio, Sergio Larrain, Bruno Barbey, Ellen von Unwerth, Gian Paolo Barbieri, Fabrizio Ferri, and Juergen Teller.

Through campaigns and editorials, cinematic and fashion icons—such as Monica Bellucci and Isabella Rossellini—merge with evocative portraits of ordinary people. Some of these images, never before seen by the public, are published here for the first time, forming a continuous dialogue centered on Dolce & Gabbana Black.

Furthering this vision, I was entrusted with transforming select photographs into an immersive installation where the images come to life, engaging in a dynamic conversation with the audience. Through movement, light, and spatial interaction, the timeless elegance and dramatic intensity of Dolce & Gabbana Black transcend the static frame, offering a sensorial journey into the brand’s aesthetic universe. This installation reinvents the dialogue between photography and viewer, intensifying the emotional power of each image and allowing the audience to experience the depth and duality of black in an entirely new dimension.
